Today's card is for the SQSC32 and
for Hot Ziggity Zag Challenge in
I used a new pad of paper from K&Company
that I picked up at Michael's for $4.99.
The little black "horseshoes" are brad
letters from a set I have had forever.
Thanks for coming by.   As always I
look forward to hearing from you.
Hugs,
Gail

Butterfly Birthday card.
Hi! everyone,
I made this card for a dear friend's birthday
on Friday.  Happy Birthday Rose!
The technique I used was from a video by Valita
I changed the color scheme.  But I really like how
it came out.  I am really doing a lot of bright
spring colors lately.  This yellow is just a sunny
happy change from all the rain we've had lately.
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me.
Hugs,
Gail

Here is one more CSC #83 card.
I used a techniques from Gina K at
Stamp TV for the panel on the right.
I used Hug Snug seam binding colored
with Posh Rainbow Ink.
The heart pins I bought several years ago
at JoAnn's and the flowers are from K&Company.
I would love to hear from you.  Let me know if
there are any techniques you want me to try.

Hugs,
Gail

This is another CSC 83 card.  This one is for
Easter.  The epoxy charm on the lower
left says Happy Easter.
I love these Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.
My big complaint with the old one's was
that the image was small.  These are perfect
for cards that are my preferred A-7 size.

Thanks for stopping by,
Gail

Hello everyone!
Today's card is one that I made for a friend who recently lost
her brother-in-law.
I used one of the new Cuttlebug folders and embossed the dark blue
card stock and the white card stock.  Then I trimmed the dark
blue using the lines of the embossing as my guide.
I glued the dark blue on top of the of the white and
once again using the embossing as a guide trimmed it to create
the window effect.  I inked the edges of the window frame.
I stamped the cross and sentiment on a separate
piece of card stock and trimmed it to fit behind the window.

I then layered the pieces on the card base and it was time
to embellish.  I created two tiny tassels from black
embroidery floss.  I attach the tassels with double-
sided adhesive and added black half pearls.

I kept this card rather simple because of the purpose.
I included a verse on the back of the front panel
and added a folded piece of blue parchment card stock
to allow space for many people to add their thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by.  As always, I appreciate your support.

Hugs,
Gail

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I missed yesterday but I was exhausted.
I am in love with using punches to make flowers.
I love this little poppy.
Below are the materials I used to make the flower.
I used the Stampin'Up oval and cut a folded piece of light weight
cardstock.  I didn't insert the paper all the way in and just cut
less than half the oval.  I then snipped off the top with
deckle edge scissors.  I inked both sides of each piece with Colorbok
Cat Eye Chalk in Bisque.
I used the RoseArt colored pencils to add additional color to each petal.
I then used a variety of embossing tools to form the petals using the
PushPad under the card stock.  I used paper glue to
adhere the petals together and form the flower.
After that I cut a thin strip of CoreDinations card stock and
wrapped it around a chop stick and then rolled it between
my fingers to create the stock.
I also used two pieces of folded card stock and
cut in the shape of a long thin leaf.
Finally, I cut a small circle out of the black card stock
and shaped it into a small bowl shape and glued in in the center.
The last step was taking a long strip of black and making
thin cuts.  I rolled it and glued it around the domed disc.

I will try to make a tutorial one of these days.

Hugs,
Gail

Hi everyone!

I'm so glad that you stopped by.
I used a brand new Cuttlebug Embossing folder to create
the 3 panels on the front.  It is hard to see it in the picture
but, the card base and the panels are cut from card stock that
has a gold cast to it.
The stamping and the sponged edge are done with StazOn
Blazing Red ink following the tutorial that was on Velita's
blog that I connected you to last night.
The cream colored flowers are actually confetti that
I found in the bridal section at Target a couple of years ago.
The little red flowers are from Jolee's crafts.

I borrowed ideas for this from one of my favorites Becca Feeken
from Amazing Paper Grace.  Check out her blog and plan to spend
some time browsing through her archives.
She truly is, "Amazing".

Hugs,
Gail

Hello!
I haven't put a sentiment on this card yet because I'm not sure what I want to use it for.
So you might ask, "Well why did she post it them?"
It's because I wanted to show you the cute little find I found when I moved my studio.
The three lacy doilies you see are actually pieces of a plastic coaster I think I bought
at our of those $ stores.  I cut it apart and colored in the flowers with my Spectrum Noir
alcohol markers.  The colors in the photo are not great but, in person, I layered the doily
pieces over a sky blue parchment card stock and then layered that on a dark blue card stock.
I also used a metallic gold ribbon I found in my stash.

Here's a tip.  When you have a scrap of ribbon leftover from a project,
go ahead and tie it into a bow.  That way when you are in a hurry and need
a card you can pick one out quickly.
This is also a great tip for those of you who don't like the way your bows come out
give this a shot.  This is a video by Velita.  She makes this very cute strawberry card but,
her trick for tying the ribbon is quick and super simple.
It is only about six minutes long and well worth watching all the way through.

I got several new toys today and can't wait to play with them and share some new creations.

Hugs,
Gail

I was given a bag full of zippers and didn't know what to do with them.
I knew that zippers were big right now in fashion and I had seen them in scrapbooking.
I did some looking around on YouTube for zipper flowers and got some ideas.
Today, I played around with some of the zippers.
One the blue ones I used a piece of thin wire and ran a gathering stitch
along the binding edge of the zipper and then gathered the zipper and rolled
it to create the flowers.
The pink one is all hot glued together.
The lavender flowers are hot glued and stitched.

I think they would look cute on cards or with a pin-back attached for a broach.
I could also see them hot glued to a headband.

Thanks for stopping by,
Gail

Hello!  This post was a little late getting here but, I made it.

I had a few challenges to meet wish this project.
I used the color challenge from StampTV
I also wanted to make a sunburst because it was a challenge over at Startascrapbook.
I also spent a good part of today making paper flowers after watching several
videos from YouTube.  This lady is amazing and she does a great job of
teaching how to use various punches to make gorgeous flowers.
Check her out Valitas Fresh Folds

I love that some of you are leaving me messages.
Karen asked about the Merry Christmas phrase on yesterdays card.
It was die cut using a BossKut die I purchased on-line for $1.00.

I am so grateful to my friends for their support as I launch this site.
God bless and keep you all.

Happy Friday and Thank you for stopping by to spend a moment with me.  I made this card
today from a technique I found on YouTube.  You can find the directions for making this
ribbon wreath here: http://www.youtube.com/watch

My finished card is 5" x 7"
Card base is Georgia Pacific White Index
The green layer and die cuts are done with Bazzill Basics Dotted Swiss
The next layer is a silver card stock that I had in my stash.
I then used another piece of paper from my stash that was off white with flecks of color.

I used LifeStyle Crafts dies to cut the layering circles and the tag
I used a My Favorite Things die for the scrolls done out of the silver card stock.
I used 3D Glue Dots to adhere the wreath.

I made this card Monday.  I used a couple new techniques (for me).
I also used some recently purchased supplies.
The finished size is 7" x 5".
The card base is DCWV cardstock.
The patterned paper is from Colorbok
The ribbon is from Big Lots.

I used a Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page for the lattice cut piece at the top.
I made the pinwheel from a strip of pp border punched using the Flower Box Border punch.
The sentiment was stamped using a Just-Rite stamp and StazOn Teal ink.

Thanks for stopping by!   Gail

Welcome!

This evening I created my own blog.  I want to share a little about the things I love and love to do.  I hope that you all will feel free to contact me and share ideas and suggestions.  I will scour the web for ideas and techniques that are new to me and give them a try and share the outcome with all of you.

God bless and keep each of you!
